  Adam R. Koniuszewski, CPA, CA
Executive Director
Green Cross International

2016 recipient of the CPA Award of Excellence – Community service

After an international business career in the financial and FMCG sectors, his interest in sustainability and the pressing challenges facing humanity led Adam Koniuszewski to join Green Cross International, the environmental non-profit of President Mikhail Gorbachev.

As its Executive Director, he helps the organization fulfill its mission in addressing the challenges of climate change, energy security, water access and environmental degradation through high-level advocacy and practical projects. In addition to this, seven years ago, Mr. Koniuszewski and his wife created The Bridge Foundation to raise awareness about global challenges in the business community and with youth.

More recently, on the invitation of former French Environment Minister Corinne Lepage, Adam Koniuszewski helped draft a “Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Humanity” and organized the launch of a campaign for its endorsement that took place in Geneva, where support by 40 million scouts was announced. The Declaration was then presented at the 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21). He now continues to promote the Declaration for its adoption by the United Nations General Assembly in 2016.

Adam Koniuszewski is an Associate Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS) and a regular speaker at international forums. We applaud the international scope, long-standing commitment and determination of Adam Koniuszewski.
