The Foundation raised $67,000 at its VIP Evening – Fashion and Shopping at the Hudson's Bay store in downtown Montreal on November 8. Brigitte Chartier, CPA, CA, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of directors, also took the opportunity to talk briefly about the important change in direction that the Foundation has begun to take in view of spending a large portion of its budget in fiscal 2018-2019 on financial aid and academic persistence scholarships. By taking this new direction, the Foundation wants to help Quebec’s promising hopefuls achieve success and give them a chance to have a prosperous career.
This festive evening was kicked off by professional stylist Louise Labrecque, who gave a presentation entitled "Le pouvoir de votre style!" Around 185 guests received some of her wise advice, mainly on the art of wearing appropriate clothes for your body shape and the colours that are on trend this season.
The evening continued with the CPAs Stepping Out in Style fashion show hosted by Louise Labrecque. The 14 CPA models showed their enthusiasm and poise as they walked the catwalk while being cheered on by the event's participants. After the various prizes were drawn, participants swarmed the store to take advantage of the exclusive discounts on their purchases.
Indeed, this type of fundraising activity could not have been such a success without the generosity of the numerous volunteers, participants and partners. The Foundation would like to thank them and acknowledge their tremendous dedication.
