Eligibility requirements

Applicants must meet the following conditions when they submit their application:

  • be registered as a candidate for the practice of the profession with the Quebec CPA Order;
  • fill out the scholarship application form online and provide their application file by email to the Foundation by the deadline;
  • be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
  • fulfill all other criteria deemed relevant by the Foundation.

Note
In the case of a project submitted as a team, all team members must fill out the scholarship application form online and provide by email their curriculum vitae and a proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency. However, one member must email the initiative or project presentation for the team, in one file in PDF format.

Evaluation criteria and required documents

Applications are evaluated based on the following 4 criteria. Click on each criterion to know the details.

Initiative or project presentation (weighting: 95%)

Write a 400 to 500-word text describing the initiative, project or specific activity (charitable/volunteer) that was carried out during the year (from January 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018) and had a real impact here or abroad.

The suggested indicators are:

  • accomplishments and impact in society;
  • inspiring leadership and drive;
  • honorary mention, award or other recognition received;
  • innovative character of the project;
  • beneficial effects on the CPA profession.

Reminder
For a team project, one single presentation (PDF format) will have to be provided to the Foundation.

Application package presentation (weighting: 5%)

The Selection committee expects files to be properly written, contain no spelling errors and be neatly formatted.

Applicants may include any other information which they consider relevant (images, videos, documents or relevant articles).

Curriculum vitae

Applicants must include an up-to-date résumé with their application.

Proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency

Applicants must include proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency in their application file. Applicants born in Quebec may submit a birth certificate issued by the Directeur de l'état civil. Only photocopies are accepted.

Presentation of scholarships and method of payment

Once the Board of directors has approved the list of scholarship recipients, a letter will be sent with a cheque directly to the recipients i.e. no later than March 31, 2019.

Please note that the scholarships are taxable.

Deadline for submitting applications

Applicants are responsible for sending the requested documents to the Foundation by the deadlines.

The duly completed electronic form must be sent to us by no later than 4:00 p.m. on January 18, 2019. In the case of a project submitted as a team, all team members must fill out the scholarship application form online.

The applicant must email the initiative or project presentation in one file in PDF format. He must also include their curriculum vitae and a proof of Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
