Quebec-France agreement on mutual recognition

Before the unification of the profession in May 2012, the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec (Ordre des CA) and the Ordre des comptables généraux accrédités du Québec (Ordre des CGA) had each signed an agreement on mutual recognition with the Ordre des Experts-Comptables de France. The provisions of these agreements are now governed by a regulation which gives effect to each of the arrangements concluded by the orders under the Québec-France Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications.

If you are legally qualified to practice public accountancy in France and a member in good standing of the Ordre des Experts-Comptables de France who holds a public accounting diploma delivered by the French minister of higher education and research, you may avail yourself of one of the following arrangements* until May 16, 2018:


* The differences between the two regulations relate to the requirements for becoming a member of the Quebec CPA Order and the designation obtained.
