Conciliation and arbitration procedure for the accounts – Notice of regulatory consultation

In accordance with the process of adopting certain regulations pursuant to section 95.3 of the Professional Code, you are encouraged to submit your comments by June 27 regarding an amendment to the Regulation respecting the conciliation and arbitration procedure for the accounts of members of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec.

The proposed amendment aims to increase, from $5,000 to $15,000, the threshold amount below which an account brought to arbitration may be heard by a single arbitrator rather than three arbitrators.

This amendment will make it possible to process matters brought to arbitration more swiftly, in the best interest of the parties, to further leverage the expertise of arbitrators and to update the monetary threshold based on the value of the professional services performed by CPAs in 2021.
