Riccardo Zerbino - 2021 Recipient - Montréal
Riccardo Zerbino, CPA, CA
Baker Tilly Montreal
2021 recipient of the CPA Volunteer Award from the Montreal CPA Group
While Riccardo Zerbino could be content with the time he spends working at Baker Tilly and as a guest professor at McGill University, he still gladly makes time for a substantial amount of volunteer work. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada and Motionball, an organization that raises funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics, are the main beneficiaries of his drive. His influence can be seen in their excellent reputations and the high amounts of funding they have raised.
In 2019, Mr. Zerbino rallied the Baker Tilly Montreal team behind his causes and collected approximately $30,000 for the Light The Night Walk event to fight cancer. In 2020, while under lockdown, he tenaciously carried out the Man of the Year campaign, which raised $43,000 and earned him this highly coveted title. His role at Motionball is just as crucial when it comes to funding: He raised more than $230,000 in donations from 2017 to 2020 as Director of the Annual Marathon of Sport.
Riccardo Zerbino has an exemplary moral fibre, which is why he feels the need to give back to his community for all the success that he has achieved in his career. For his edifying commitment, his peers have selected him to receive this Volunteer Award.
