Checklist – Information gathering – Personal income taxes
Author: Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec
Next update: September 2020
The checklist aims to help the practitioner’s client to gather key information required by the CPA for the preparation of their personal tax returns as well as those of family members. In addition, forms authorizing communications with investment advisors, a former accountant and government authorities are included. The checklist will also help the CPA reduce the risk of omitting important information.
Updated – September 2018This new update incorporates the amendments to the Canadian Income Tax Act (ITA) and the Quebec Taxation Act (TAA) until September 30, 2018. After that date, it would be appropriate to ensure that significant changes have not been made to the tax application rules presented in this publication.
In addition, forms authorizing communications with investment advisors, a former accountant and government authorities are included. The checklist will also help the CPA reduce the risk of omitting important information.
