In 2017, the Quebec CPA Order has celebrated its 5th anniversary. Despite its young age, the Order has already made history. Moreover, its future is in good hands thanks to the extraordinary dedication of its employees and countless volunteers, who, in the spotlight or behind the scenes, will continue to ensure the CPA designation is synonymous with rigour for the public and a symbol of pride for the 44,000 CPAs and future CPAs.

The CPA Order is the result of the merger of the Ordre des comptables agréés (CA), the Ordre des comptables généraux accrédités (CGA) and the Ordre des comptables en management accrédités (CMA).
Spurred by the Office des professions du Québec and the Minister of Justice, the adoption of the Chartered Professional Accountants Act on May 16, 2012 has enshrined the culmination of an ideal to which the leaders of the accounting profession remained steadfastly committed, to propel the profession into the future.
For the new Quebec CPA Order, it was the beginning of an exciting adventure, fraught with challenges but also marked by resounding successes that broadened the accounting profession’s influence in Quebec, in Canada and around the world.
