The Quebec budget on the Order’s radar

In the media this week and today in Quebec City, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Order, Geneviève Mottard, advocated the seven proposals presented to the Minister of Finance in relation to the Quebec budget. Simply put, the Order calls on the government to show vision and leadership in modernizing the tax system and stimulating the economy. Follow the Order’s response in the next few hours!

	22 exceptional CPAs awarded the prestigious title of Fellow

	The Board of directors of the Order has formalized the selection of 22 new Fellows. The board also announced that the Outstanding Achievement Award would be presented to Robert Després, FCPA, FCGA, Chairman of the Board of Cominar. Our great ambassadors will be officially honoured during the Soirée des Fellows, to be held in May. In addition, Jacques Lefebvre, ASC, will be awarded the title of Companion of the Order at the event.

	New CPAs in the spotlight!

	On March 12, 239 new CPAs were admitted to the profession at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The new members were presented their permit by Alain Dugal, FCPA, FCA, Chair of the Order, and Geneviève Mottard, CPA, CA, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Order.

	2016 CPA Student Congress: A summit for the next generation

	Again this year, the CPA Student Congress gave future CPAs from across Quebec an opportunity to take part in conferences, educational activities related to the field of accounting and sporting events. The congress also provided a platform to recognize CPA student committees for their achievements.
