During the pre-budget consultations, the Minister
of Finance’s team was receptive to the various proposals
put forward by the Order, particularly with respect
to the Stabilization Reserve and the Generations
Fund.
Overall, the Order supports measures to ensure responsible
and sustainable management of public finances, foster
government transparency, and promote tax fairness
and consistency.

CPA: An appealing designation for foreign-trained
professionals
The Order recently held an information session for
foreign-trained professionals who wish to obtain
the CPA designation. The event attracted participants
from 12 countries spanning the globe. It was
an opportunity for them to learn about the steps
involved and ask questions to representatives from
the Order, universities and immigration organizations.
The CPA Order receives an annual average of 400
to 500 equivalence applications, making it
one of the most coveted orders among foreign-trained
professionals. The CPA designation is clearly in
high demand.
