Bill 107: the government agreed with our position

 

In a unified voice, the CPA Order, the Barreau du Québec and the Ordre des ingénieurs, among others, called for preserving the integrity of the disciplinary process of professional orders. They also requested that, at the very least, the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions consult with the syndic of the professional order concerned before ending an inquiry or disciplinary complaint in exchange for the repentant professional’s collaboration in a criminal investigation. The Order is pleased that the government agreed with the professional orders’ positions and provided that the syndic will be consulted in these circumstances.

The rate applicable to personal tax credits in the formulas for calculating source deductions of Quebec income tax has been reduced from 16% to 15%.
