Bill 107: the government agreed with our
position
In a unified voice, the CPA Order, the Barreau
du Québec and the Ordre des ingénieurs,
among others, called for preserving the
integrity of the disciplinary process of
professional orders. They also requested
that, at the very least, the Director of
Criminal and Penal Prosecutions consult
with the syndic of the professional order
concerned before ending an inquiry or disciplinary
complaint in exchange for the repentant
professional’s collaboration in a criminal
investigation. The Order is pleased that
the government agreed with the professional
orders’ positions and provided that the
syndic will be consulted in these circumstances.
