Did you know?

Business representatives can submit authorization requests online using Represent a Client. This will allow those authorized representatives to have access to a client’s information in five days or less.

Using Represent a Client, you can submit an authorization request in three easy steps:

  1. Log into Represent a Client with your Rep ID. From the home page, select “Review and update,” then “Manage clients,” then “Authorization request,” and follow the instructions.
  2. Print the certification page for your client to sign.
  3. Scan and submit the signed certification page to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) using “Submit documents.”
After you submit the signed certification page to the CRA, you should receive authorization and online access to your client’s information in five days or less.

To see if the authorization is complete, go to “Review and update” and click on the Manage clients tab. Under Business clients, select “Businesses that have authorized this RepID.”

The CRA continues to expand its suite of online self-serve options as part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to be client-focused and more helpful to Canadians. Through improvements to Represent a Client, the CRA is continuing to support representatives and tax preparers.
