Message to CPA, CGAs

Some CPA, CGAs received an offer from CGA-Canada to renew their membership on an entirely voluntary basis. You should know that you are under no obligation to pay any dues to CGA-Canada. As with all other Quebec CPAs, the dues you pay to the Order allow you to use your designation and to access all services, including those already offered by CPA Canada.
What is important to note is that any dues you choose to pay to CGA-Canada would in no way replace those you are required to pay to the Order. In addition, your rights and privileges are not at all threatened if you decide to decline CGA-Canada’s offer. Regardless of your decision, the following are not being challenged: your CPA, CGA designation, your good standing with the Order and your mobility in Canada, which is guaranteed under the Agreement on Internal Trade, as it is for all professional accountants in Canada.
