Verification of persons registered for Quebec’s public prescription drug insurance plan

While the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) is carrying out a verification of persons registered for the public prescription drug insurance plan, you may receive a phone call or letter from the RAMQ indicating that you are no longer covered by the plan. If so, this means you were insured by error under the public plan.

Under the Act respecting prescription drug insurance, all Quebec residents are required to obtain and maintain basic drug insurance coverage. If you are under 65 years of age and you are not covered under a group policy, either through your employer or your spouse, you must sign up for coverage under the plan sponsored by the CPA Order for both yourself and your eligible dependents.

You can obtain details on Order-sponsored insurance programs on the Vigilis website under Ordre des CPA in the Health Insurance section . Click on “Find out more and apply” to view the enrolment package which provides a description of the plans offered, premium rates for all family situations as well as an enrolment form to complete to rectify your situation.
