Montreal, December 4, 2015 – The results of the first-ever Common Final Examination (CFE) of chartered professional accountants (CPA), a major milestone in the CPA qualification process, were released this morning. The Quebec CPA Order proudly recognizes the success of 709 Quebec candidates at this national examination, which was held on September 16, 17 and 18, 2015.

“The energy and effort these future chartered professional accountants invested in preparing for the CFE, and also throughout their studies, have brought them one step closer to the profession,” said Alain Dugal, FCPA, FCA, Chair of the Order. “Quebec can boast about a new generation that will meet the highest standards of professionalism, rigour and integrity.”

The National Honour Roll

This year, 16 Quebec candidates made the National Honour Roll, which features the candidates with the top 50 CFE results from across Canada. “This achievement reflects the talent of those who will use the CPA designation in the coming years,” added Daniel McMahon, FCPA, FCA, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Order.

Mathieu Isabelle, an Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières graduate, earned the Gold Medal for Quebec and a $2,500 cash prize by CPA Canada for the highest standing in Quebec. He will also receive a $1,500 cash prize from the CPA Foundation, as will the 15 other Quebec candidates who made the National Honour Roll, whose names are:
