The Order facilitated a meeting between the members of 5 of its working groups and the Director, Public Sector Accounting Board, CPA Canada, and member of the PSAB, the body responsible for standard setting in the public sector, to discuss the concerns raised in Quebec over the implementation of PS 3410, Government Transfers.

Beware: Fraudulent Communications Purportedly from CRA
With tax season in full swing, some savvy fraudsters are taking advantage of the timing and are representing themselves as the CRA to members of the public, even identifying a toll free number to call. It is important to remember and remind your clients that the CRA does not request personal information via email, and will only send payments by direct deposit or cheque. Municipal sector – Capital asset management guide for municipal managers
The Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Occupation du territoire (MAMOT), in association with the Centre d’expertise et de recherche en infrastructures urbaines (CERIU), issued the Guide de gestion des actifs en immobilisations à l’intention des gestionnaires municipaux. The Order’s Working group on municipal governments invites professionals who work in the municipal sector to read the guide.
