Comments submitted to the Finance Minister on Bill 150
The Order has submitted comments to the Finance Minister concerning certain aspects of Bill 150: An Act respecting mainly the implementation of certain provisions of the Budget Speeches of 17 March 2016 and 28 March 2017, which introduces a mediation process for summary appeals respecting fiscal tax matters. While it recognizes the importance of such a Bill, the Order believes that the proposed powers of the Director of Criminal and Penal Prosecutions (DCPP) to unilaterally withdraw a disciplinary complaint lodged against a cooperating witness do not take into account the purpose of the professional system in Quebec, which is the protection of the public (in French only).
