Montreal, October 28, 2020 – As we head into Financial Literacy Month, the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (CRHA Order) and the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA Order) are teaming up for the second year to reduce financial stress among Quebec workers.

In this challenging economic climate, personal finances are a source of worry and stress for many workers and it is more important than ever to give them the tools they need to manage their money wisely.

In response, the CPA and CRHA Orders will jointly present a free webinar for workers on November 19, 2020. Videos with tips and tools for workers will also be released throughout the year. The topical content will reflect the reality of workers and the very special circumstances we are all experiencing.

“Although it was already there and having a significant impact, financial stress among workers has intensified and spread in recent months, which is very troubling. Since financial stress can affect anyone, regardless of age or income level, and have a negative impact on mental health and productivity, it is important for us to support the financial literacy skills of workers,” said  Manon Poirier, CRHA, Executive Director of the CRHA Order.

“It’s never too early or too late to gain enough knowledge and self-confidence to make informed and responsible financial decisions. The pandemic’s impact on work organization, supply chains and online sales is forcing workers and businesses alike to review their priorities. It is our responsibility to guide them both by helping them to absorb the impact and be positioned to bounce back once conditions improve,” added Geneviève Mottard, CPA, CA, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Quebec CPA Order.
