Montreal, October 25, 2012 – The spotlight was on 12 models for a day from the Foundation of Quebec CPAs as they hit the catwalk in front of an audience of more than 200 guests at Ogilvy's, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. This chic and elegant event, the first-ever fundraising activity of the Foundation of Quebec CPAs, helped raise $35,000. All funds will be distributed through the Foundation’s scholarship programs and research grants.

Resulting from the merger of the Foundation of Quebec CAs and the Quebec CMA Foundation, the new registered charity contributes to promoting education and the advancement of knowledge in the accounting profession's areas of expertise. By awarding scholarships and research grants, the Foundation of Quebec CPAs is fulfilling its mission to support academic perseverance and foster social and community involvement which can impact the development of the next generation and the visibility of the profession.

“It’s important for the next generation to be able to count on strong ambassadors of the profession who are involved in the community,” says Diane Messier, FCPA, FCA, Vice-President, Qualification, at the Ordre des CPA du Québec. “By meeting dynamic and successful women like those we watched this evening who are committed to the common good, the next generation will be inspired to succeed. We hope the fashion show becomes a regular event, which would enable to Foundation to support these talented young people for years to come,” she adds.
