Montreal, June 3, 2014 – The Foundation of Quebec CPAs held its prestigious wine and cheese event last Thursday at the Pointe-à-Callière Museum in Montreal. Thanks to the many people who attended the event and their commitment towards the next generation of accounting professionals, a grand total of $31,000 was raised. The funds will go to many students from across Quebec in the form of scholarships and awards.

Michel Verreault, FCPA, FCMA, Chair of the Foundation, thanked all the participants who “contributed directly to fund the Foundation’s scholarship programs aimed at encouraging young people to persevere in their studies and become involved in the community.” Mr. Verreault also mentioned that since the Foundation was created on August 31, 2012, close to $1,000,000 in scholarships and awards of excellence have been presented to nearly 800 young people thanks to the generosity of thousands of CPAs and institutions who partner with the Foundation.
