This is the main conclusion that led the Order to submit 17 recommendations to the Minister of Finance last week as part of the pre-budget consultations. The Order’s Working group on pension plans published an information document in the December 11, 2013 issue of the CPA Newsletter entitled “Expected changes to assumptions about mortality,” which included the changes that pose significant challenges for preparers and auditors of pension plan and plan sponsor financial statements.
