The Ordre des CPA du Québec presented its views on D’Amours Report findings
When the Ordre des CPA du Québec appeared before the Committee on Public Finance, which is currently studying the recommendations set out in the D’Amours Report, it stressed the importance of getting back to the very essence of our retirement system whose aim is to provide sufficient income to sustain an adequate standard of living in retirement, in keeping with our collective ability to pay.

CPA Newsletter • The Order’s head office relocates
As of August 26, the Order’s head office (393 St-Jacques Street) will be temporarily relocated to 4 Place Ville Marie. The staff of the Executive Office, Legal Affairs, as well as Public Affairs and Communications will therefore not be reachable on Friday, August 23, the day of the move. They will gradually return on Monday, August 26.

New reporting requirements for filing CRA Form T1135
In June 2013, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) announced new requirements for Canadians with offshore property and income. The following article by Alexandre Bouffard, CPA, CGA, a member of the Order’s Technical Working Group on Taxation and Commodity Taxes, provides a reminder of the applicable tax rules for the purposes of filing Form T1135 and an overview of the changes to the form.

CPA Canada consultation roundtables on auditing and assurance standards
In October 2013, CPA Canada will be holding consultations with interested stakeholders to obtain their input on three very important projects being undertaken by the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) to revise existing standards or propose new standards.
