Brief prepared by the Order on Bill 17
Last week, the Order presented a substantive French brief on Bill 17, An Act to amend the Professional Code with respect to disciplinary justice, to the Committee on Institutions. Since protecting the public is one of its main areas of strategic focus, the Order applauds the government’s commitment to optimize the mechanisms in place to ensure that the public and professionals are better served and obtain justice within a reasonable timeframe.

The accounting profession in Quebec, unified under the CPA banner since May 16, 2012, is starting 2013 with a bang thanks to a strong showing by aspiring CPAs ready to take on any challenge. A total of 1,536 Quebec candidates for the CPA designation passed the professional exams in their respective paths in 2012-2013.
