INCORPORATION STATUTES
The Foundation of Quebec Chartered Professional Accountants was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization (NPO) under Part III of the Quebec Companies Act on August 31, 2012. It is a charity in the meaning of the Income Tax Act.
Therefore, the Foundation is a separate legal entity from the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. It is led by an independent board of directors from the Order’s board and is subject to different laws, regulations and obligations than those to which the Order is subject.

The Order encourages the next generation by providing support to the Foundation and organizing benefit events for it. The Order also acts as an intermediary between donors and the Foundation, mainly for the donations that its members make to the Foundation when paying their annual dues.
Furthermore, the Foundation receives administrative support from the Order and makes an annual contribution to use its offices; this amount is entered under the "administrative expenses" heading of its financial statements.
An exciting profession that makes me want to give back
I like that the CPA profession is able to offer enriching practical experiences while still provoking thought on complex theoretical issues. This duality, between the field and professional judgment, was what motivated me to conduct research in the field of accounting at the doctoral level. Although I have always had a desire to learn and explore the academic horizons beyond our wonderful province, I never thought that this path would lead me to a doctorate at Queen’s University. The generous support from the Foundation and its donors makes me very proud. It strengthens my commitment to come back to Quebec after my studies and do my part to advance accounting knowledge and training for the next generation of CPAs. Thank you once again for your confidence and your commitment to the profession!
