New Professional Program

Attention

Are you on the right page?

This page provides information about exams included in the new CPA Professional Program, offered starting in 2027.

If you are enrolled in the current CPA Professional Education Program, ending no later than 2028, please refer instead to the page for the Common Final Examination.

The CPA Professional Program uses an integrated approach to learning, assessment and practical experience requirements that more accurately reflects the realities of the profession. In doing so, it draws a parallel between learning experiences and their assessment. This provides greater insight into the competencies that will be acquired over time, while recognizing that professional development occurs throughout the learning process and not just at the time of the assessment.

Result: a more relevant, interesting and effective path to the CPA designation.

Explore the resources below to find out more about the examinations included in the CPA Professional Program.

It is filled with exam blueprints, which are designed to lend transparency and clarity to your assessment expectations. Study these blueprints to understand what will be assessed, how it will be assessed, and how to best prepare for the exams.

Exam Costs

Fees for the exams in the CPA Professional Program have not yet been set. The Order is currently working to establish the fee structure.

Fees and other information related to program costs will be published on the Costs, Policies and Rules page as soon as they become available. Stay tuned!

Sample exams

Sample exams have been prepared to better illustrate what you can expect on the real exams. They include examples of case studies and answers as well as correspondence documents describing the assessment opportunities and their relationship to the learning outcomes of the Module Guide. These sample exams are intended for all candidates for the practice of the profession, regardless of the pathway chosen, whether the program delivered by the Order or the graduate program.

The sample exams are intended to give you a general indication of the format, structure and nature of the questions that you might have to answer. Although these documents have been very carefully prepared and are generally representative, they are not exhaustive and may not cover all of the possible variations in questions. The examples provided have also not been subjected to all of the processes and quality controls that are usually applied when the actual examinations are being developed. For these reasons, you should refer to them simply as a guide, and not as an exact representation. If necessary, edited versions of the sample exams will be published in early 2027 and include any necessary corrections.
