New professional program

This page provides information about the program offered by the Order included in the new CPA Professional Program, starting in 2027.

If you are enrolled in the current CPA Professional Education Program, ending no later than 2028, please refer instead to the page for that program.

The program delivered by the Order is one of two pathways to complete the CPA Professional Program and become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Quebec. It is offered in French or English and delivered online, except for the examinations and the final module entitled Professional Readiness, which are delivered in person only.

Who is this program for?

The program delivered by the Order is for anyone who wishes to obtain the CPA designation. However, some of its features may make it a better option for you.

Do you want to work full time during your studies? In the flexible program delivered by the Order, you can hold a full-time accounting job and even accumulate months of practical experience while you learn. This is an excellent way to immediately consolidate your knowledge with practical experience.

Are you are looking for a flexible program where you learn at your own pace? Whether you choose to take the program on a part-time basis or on an accelerated basis so that you can obtain the CPA designation faster, the program delivered by the Order lets you complete your modules and exams at your own pace.

Would you prefer to study whenever and wherever you like? With the program delivered by the Order, you can study online whenever you want, thanks to an interactive portal that was designed according to best educational practices. This means that you can focus on your studies when the time is right for you or balance your studies with a job or personal obligations.

Are you self-taught, but still want to receive feedback from an experienced CPA? You will have a number of opportunities throughout the program to interact with a CPA who is assigned to act as your coach. That CPA will answer your questions and send you detailed feedback on your work. You will be in good hands, thanks to this remote assistance!

Program structure

The program is made up of modules that are each followed by an examination. You must complete each module in order and pass its associated examination before proceeding to the next module.

It is important to note that the CPA practical training period must be completed and recognized by the Order before you may proceed with the final module entitled Professional Readiness.

Program duration

Each module takes 6 to 16 weeks to complete and is followed by 1 or 2 weeks of preparation for its associated examination, except the final module, Professional Readiness, which takes just 5 days to complete, followed by the preparation period for the examination.

The program is still being developed and its exact duration has yet to be confirmed. Therefore, the periods mentioned are provided for information purposes only and are subject to change.

Program Costs

Fees for the program delivered by the Order have not yet been set. The Order is currently working to establish the fee structure to offer a program of the highest quality at a competitive cost for candidates.

Program registration

Registration for the new professional program delivered by the Order will open in Winter 2027 and the modules will begin in May 2027.
