The Ordre des CPA du Québec pays tribute to its great ambassadors and welcomes 72 executive program graduates
On November 16, 2012, the Order held its prestigious Ambassadors Gala in Montreal. During this major event, hosted by Rebecca Makonnen, close to 350 guests celebrated the admission to the profession of 72 executive program graduates and congratulated the recipients of numerous awards and distinctions.

The Order and the Commission des normes du travail (Commission) are collaborating to maximize the dissemination of information about labour standards to CPAs and candidates. This agreement includes providing information about labour standards through the Order’s various online tools.

End of affiliation between CGA Canada and CPA Quebec: CPA, CGAs need not worry about having their rights respected
As a result of the decision by CGA-Canada and its affiliated associations to exclude the Ordre des CGA du Québec from the CGA affiliation agreement in August 2011, the arbitrator of the dispute between the Association des comptables généraux accrédités du Canada (CGA-Canada) and the Ordre des comptables généraux accrédités du Québec (CGA-Québec) rendered his decision a few days ago.

A historic Permit Presentation: 275 new CPAs admitted to the accounting profession
The Order reached an important milestone on November 3, 2012, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, as it hosted the first major CPA Permit Presentation since the unification of the three accounting orders in May 2012. The Order officially welcomed 275 of the 672 new CPAs admitted to the profession last spring.

Free online access to disciplinary decisions of the Ordre des CPA du Québec: a first for the Quebec public
The Order entered into an historic agreement with the Société québécoise d’information juridique (SOQUIJ). Under this agreement, all disciplinary decisions rendered between June 1, 2001 and May 15, 2012 by the disciplinary councils of the CA, CGA and CMA orders, as well as those rendered since May 16, 2012 by the Disciplinary Council of the Ordre des CPA, can now be viewed free of charge on the jugements.qc.ca website.
