Adam Koniuszewski, FCPA, FCA
Executive director
Green Cross International
2017 recipient of the title of FCPA
After a business career that took him around the world, Adam Koniuszewski turned his focus to diplomatic, environmental and humanitarian pursuits by joining former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev’s environmental non-profit Green Cross International in 2008. Under his guidance, promising initiatives have been carried out, such as Gorbachev’s Climate Change Task Force, whose participants include organizations like the Nobel Peace Prize Forum and the Club of Madrid.
Mr. Koniuszewski created The Bridge Foundation with his wife to champion the ideals of the United Nations. As part of his work for the Foundation, he engages youth and opinion leaders on global issues as a speaker and in specific projects, such as the “Education is a Window to the World” program. Through this program, he instills a global awareness in youth and inspires them to become the next generation of world citizens.
Also, on the invitation of former French Environment Minister Corinne Lepage, he helped draft a “Declaration of the Rights and Duties of Humanity” and organized the launch of a campaign for its endorsement that took place in Geneva, where support by 40 million scouts was announced. The Declaration was then presented at the 2015 Paris Climate Conference. Mr. Koniuszewski continues to promote the Declaration in view of its adoption by the United Nations.
Adam Koniuszewski is an Associate Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science and a sought-after speaker at international forums. He received a CPA Award of Excellence from the Order in 2016. We applaud him for his international scope and long-standing commitment and sincerely welcome him as a Fellow this year.
