Jo-Ann Lempert – Récipiendaire 2016

Jo-Ann Lempert joined MNP Montreal when it first merged with the national firm. She was instrumental in designing the operational teams in the assurance group, and worked tirelessly to ensure team members were adequately trained in assurance standards and MNP policies and procedures.

Ms. Lempert authored a practical guide on Section 3856, Financial Instruments, which is still used across Canada today. The guide has received enormous positive feedback for its user-friendly approach and practical examples on all topics covered by the complex standard.

A member of the national Board of Examiners for six years, Ms. Lempert often went beyond the suggested preparation time to ensure a thorough review was always performed. Known for her approachability, her ease of manner, and her ability to get to the heart of the matter, Ms. Lempert contributed effectively to the Board and was often sought out by new Board members for guidance.

Respected for her practical advice and technical competence, Jo-Ann Lempert has been asked to participate in numerous Order committees. Not only has she achieved professional recognition in her firm, she is highly respected by her peers for her knowledge, integrity and passion—qualities that make her an exceptional role model for the next generation.
