What sets CPAs apart from accountants?

The CPA designation: Delivering real value

Being an accountant is not the same as being a CPA. Unlike accountants, CPAs are supervised by a professional order, the Ordre des CPA du Québec, whose primary mission is to protect the public.

As Quebec’s single accounting credential, the CPA designation is synonymous with quality and reliability. It is the seal that guarantees you are doing business with a professional who has to comply with specific requirements throughout their career, such as:

Taking training to improve and keep their knowledge up to date

Abiding by a code of ethics and clear regulations

Carrying liability insurance to protect you

Complying with internationally recognized standards of competence and integrity
