The deadline for reporting your continuing education hours is September 30 of each year.
Consequences of non-compliance with the obligations
Non-compliance with the obligation to report continuing education hours may result in:
- the suspension or limitation of the right to engage in professional activities
- the striking off the roll of the Order
- the suspension or revocation of the public accountancy permit, if applicable.
A $175 fee will be charged to members who fail to report the minimum number of hours required under the regulations by September 30 of each year.
Process in case of non-compliance with the requirements
Deadline for reporting your hours
If you do not complete and report your hours, you will receive a first default notice and a $175 invoice. You will then have 30 days to ensure your file is in order and pay the late fee. If you fail to comply with this obligation, you will receive a final notice.
If your situation is still not corrected within the following 15 days, your public accountancy permit could be suspended, and, if applicable, your permit to practise could be suspended or limited, or you could be struck off the roll. The Executive committee makes the final decision.
